SPIRIT OF THE GAME (SotG)
Spirit of the Game is at the heart of Ultimate and is a defining characteristic of the sport. With no referees, Ultimate relies on Spirit of the Game, placing the onus of spirited and honorable play on the players themselves. See the EUPA Spirit Policy for further details. Any questions or concerns related to a team's spirit can be directed to spirit@eupa.ca.

FORMAT & RULES
The format of the league is

  • 2022-2023 USA Ultimate Official Rules with modifications for number of players, ratio, format, and field size
  • 5v5 mixed ultimate on a 65x20 field, with 10 yard end zones
  • Gender ratio to be determined by registrations and team Ambassadors/Captains
  • Standard with subs on the fly
    • Please note that these are only the default rules for the league. If the two team Captains wish to have different modifications for their games, they are welcome to make changes.

Refer to this FAQ section on the EUPA website for gameplay format definitions. Refer to our Gender Inclusion Policy for further information about gender ratios. Refer to our Weather Policy for information about game cancellations due to weather

SUBS
If you will miss a night of play, please communicate that with your team either in person or through the RAMP App and look for a sub to take your place. Note that subs should be of a similar playing level to the player they are replacing and MUST have a valid EUPA membership to play as per the EUPA Sub Policy.

Here are some ways to find a sub:

  • Post in the #subs channel on our EUPA Community Slack (click here to join, if you have any issues, please email admin@eupa.ca).
  • Post through our EUPA Facebook Group
  • Ask your Ambassador/teammates to help you find a sub in person at league or through the RAMP App
