Stanine	Description
9	I go to tons of tournaments! I've played at nationals and worlds. I know all the throws, all the plays, and have even made up some of my own. There’s no strategy I haven’t mastered. I almost never turnover the disc.
8	I go to lots of tournaments. I go to the competitive practices (or they’d love to have me there). Every throw is solid and I’m comfortable with any strategy you can throw at me. I rarely turn over the disc.
7	I've played league but I also like to go to some tournaments. I’ve been thinking of going out to the competitive team practices. Have a solid backhand & forehand and some other throws on the go. I know many different types of zone. I barely turn over the disc.
6	League; been there, done that. I understand the zone and am comfortable with it. I use both my backhand and forehand throws during games.
5	Played league for a while. I am adept at stacking, man to man defense and forcing. I may have a basic understanding of zone. I use my backhand all the time and my forehand is coming along.
4	Possibly played league for at least one year. Understand basic stack, man to man defense and what home and away are. I’ve got a backhand throw that I regularly use during game play.
3	Played numerous times but still lack skills. Maybe played league before and know most of the rules. It’s starting to make sense to me.
2	Played many team sports in the past. May have played ultimate a couple of times before and may know some of the rules.
1	Little or no experience with the sport. This may only be my first or second time playing. Might not know any of the rules. Have not played many team sports in the past.

How to Update Your Stanine

It's important that you update your player skill level at the beginning of every season to reflect your growth in order for you to be properly placed on teams for hat tournaments/leagues and for your team to be ranked properly so you can play other evenly matched teams!

To update your player stanine:

Log in to EUPA account (link is in the top right-hand box if you're not logged in)
Once you're signed in, click on your name in the top right-hand box
Click on the "EUPA" tab
Update your "Skill Level"
Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom
